Thanks Onyx.
After rereading my app some parts were vague. Once all the excitement started to fade and my head was a little clearer I started to look at my GW play-style through the eyes of these questions.
In addition to this resub/edit I'd still like to join you guys on a few test runs. When r u usually on?
Below are the edits noted as an 'Edit' or 'Addition' depending on whether or not parts were to be "rewritten."
4. main character&maxed titles on him/her [Addition]
Canthan Guardian/Vanquisher
5. Your experience with high end areas in GW/elite missions/dungeons and overall HM [Edit]
I think my lack of experience in these areas will become evident from my play-style explained in #11. But summarized my experience is:
- just starting to vanq and do HM missions in Elona
- Tyria/Cantha vq/guardian
- ToPK.... This is all I use to do at one point. I'd do 2-3 runs per day as an orders nec in b/p grps. Then titles came along... and the other expansions. I started doing those things and now no one is there except perma ecto farmers it seems.
- UW.. a handful of runs, some for farming some for quests. Unfortunately the latter never went very far... neither did the former as far as productivity went LOL.
- Frostmaw. I HH'ed several runs trying to farm something from the chest.... the Divine Favor items for a template I was making for my Oggy.
- EotN: not much HM yet. After I finish Elona, EotN is next on the list for the title.
- Urgoz: Just started doing these runs. I like them a lot. Gone in many times in the last 2 days finished 2x in HM... 0x in NM so far
- Sorrows Furnace: On last quest. HH'ed it.
- Green Farming: Whenever I try out a new template I try and farm the green for it that's best suited to it... with as few heroes as possible. Not always successful, but I try.
7. Your past guild experiences and what guilds have you been in? [Addition]
Currently in a guild. Happened after my original post. I'd write the abbrev. but it's in Chinese. The alliance is the 'Norn High Council.' Nice people but very small and I just kinda got spammed the invite so I figured why not give it a go for the time being. It's a PvE guild as well.... 8 strong
So why am I applying? I'm looking for a larger guild and alliance with more people online.
11. Describe yourself as player [Edit]
I like to accomplish something in GW when I spend time online. I'm usually open for anything when I first get on.... ask alliance 'what's up?' Sometimes joining them sometimes not. When I first login I'm looking to move towards one of the many goals I set for myself in GW. After a bit I'm pretty much up for anything.
In groups when I'm in a new area I tend to stay in the middle-of-the-pack, sometimes in the rear. Once I'm more comfortable I tend to be a more aggressive player. I didn't have much of an opportunity to do that for a long time. But about a year ago I bought Nightfall and Factions so I could get heroes so I could finally vanq Old Ascalon. It's more of a habit now.
Since then I got about 7.5 mil more xp on top of the 2 mil I had previously. Basically getting a lot more accomplished in game. My point being I'd rather be up front than a support person..... but I like 'play' time, not 'wait' time. So I'll do pretty much any role once i'm familiar with an area.
I'm always open to learning and experimenting so to follow up on the last two sentences. I learned where to place EoE on my 2nd successful Urgoz run.... yes the nec carried EoE LOL. Because I'd rather play then wait I came up with 4 temps.... BiP (which I try to avoid is still under construction, it's untested but point is to make it across fire flower bridge w/o dying and prevent HB-UA monk or perma quick deaths)
OAJTY0zaV6GEOYPAjLMwFKPA6AA - N/R EoE
OANDYYrPL39MFGyk8ESxjDB - N/Mo Perma Bonder
OAVDEjxHT3gwB7B2ghBuQ5BTAA - N/Me Cryer/SS ** my fav
OANEQsVN+JVPsFeHEGITASsScQA - N/Mo BiP
My "wasting time in GW" statement is in reference to: A.) Waiting 67 minutes to form an Urgoz group.... the record so far. I'd rather play than wait. B.) People who leave and essentially wasted everyone else's time because they weren't happy with something but they were necessary in the group.
I'm the guy that'd rather stay in. i.e. The last successful Urgoz run a cryer left on the first set of pulls and it seemed everyone resigned.... except me. My response to this was something like, "r u kidding me it's just a cryer. lets go!"
Not every situation will be textbook and it should never be expected. That's my view. So I try and adapt to different situations. The best example I can give is a ToPK run.... in NM. My HM orders temp is different and could've never done this. The last level bad pulls and a near party wipe 2x on the stairs. Ok... the whole team spent however long to get to this point... the last level, then the MM leaves. 'Cause of this the monk gets frustrated and he leaves. So we have 5 b/p's and an orders nec.
We stayed. I adapted my skill use and became the healer. We discussed possible tactics and got 1/2 way through the level. Too many grasps on the bottom came up the stairs on one pull, pets didn't hold'em all back. Survivor didn't have rez. A failed attempt, but not a "waste of time." Any decent effort can't be considered a waste.
I have no aversion to using heroes. IDK where the bad rap came from but if they work well, I see no reason why they can't come. Also in areas where in NM dots are L28 and in HM they're L30... I honestly don't care whether the run is done in HM or NM. Whatever gets me playing quicker is the route I'll go, especially if it's my first few times in that area.
I tend to collect materials and some weapon mods and usually offer it to the alliance first at a cheaper rate (usually. depends on what the item is).... if it isn't against the rules to sell in AC.
12. Tell us more about yourself as person [Addition]
If it hasn't been noticed, I tend to write stream-of-conciously
. Sometimes funny sometimes not. Sometimes I'm to-the-point, but I do my best not to be brusque. I flavor my posts with a lot of "LOL
" so things are not taken that way, as that is never my intent.
I get a kick out of simple things.... like instant deaths from Pain Inverter or Ebon Vanguard Sniper Support.
Obviously I play GW way too much LOL.
14. Why do you want to join and how can yu contribute to guild? [Response/Addition]
The 1st sentence I originally wrote was vague and could've meant one of many things and I guess Cama chose to focus on the first few words which was not my intent.... hopefully what I wrote in #11 clarifies my views.
As far as contributions I'm not really sure how to answer that. Hopefully something sticks out in #11. Maybe my quirky humor? My original answer basically stays the same here although it could be reworded better.... essentially have fun with guildies.
